​Colleen Pecnik (Founder and Lead Teacher)  I graduated from Meredith College in 2009 with a BS in Child Development and Psychology.  After graduating I spent several years working one-on-one with children on the autism spectrum.  Followed by several years teaching preschool children before entering the world of special needs case management.  I ultimately decided I was my happiest, most fulfilled, and my talents put to their best use when working with preschool children, leading me back to the classroom.

I relocated to Solana Beach with my wonderful husband and we decided it was the perfect time to start The Purposeful Preschool!  I spent a year putting my heart and soul into it's development, opened in 2016 in Leucadia, and recently moved locations to Village Park in Encinitas.

I love guiding, nurturing, and fostering the development of young minds. Children live and love in the moment and I truly enjoy being around that energy everyday! I love being silly and laughing often which makes the company of children where I find my bliss.  I cannot wait to start this adventure with you all!
